HomeKit, Matter/Thread, local schedules, hub topology, failure-mode planning
About
Home automation designer focused on local reliability. I help families choose thermostats that work offline, respect privacy, and integrate cleanly with HomeKit and Matter.
Core Beliefs
Comfort should not hinge on cloud availability or opaque services.
Background
During a storm that killed internet for two days, our radiant floor system stayed steady because HomeKit schedules lived on-device and Thread kept sensors online. While neighbors' cloud apps spun, our automations pre-warmed the nursery and held a narrow band. That week cemented my local-first approach to comfort.
Perspective
I prefer local-first, Matter-ready devices, and avoid subscriptions that gate core features.
